So you can't read Swedish? I thought you could... ;)

It says something like this:
"Some week ago I found a blog that I've gotten addicted to. It's not an ordinary blog but a woman writing a novel, publishing a part every five days. The novel is set in the 18th century and is about pirates.

I got stuck right away because of the fun "cultural clashes". Since the it is written from Sabrinas point of view - a woman born in the 1970's but ends up in the 18th century while on vacation in the Carribeans in 2009. I know, it sounds really bad! But it isn't! It's very well written and intriguing and you get to learn stuff about life in the 18th centry. I like it! So give it a chance...

I read a part now and then on the iPod when a get a minute or two... Really nice summerreading! =D"

Sorry for my bad english...

Thank you so much. Please let me know if there is anything I can do in return.

Posted my humble review of your wondrous tale on Muse and Web Fic Guide - and 'twas my pleasure. Thanks again for taking our never-grown-up imaginations (and our inner noses) for such a rich ride ;o)

Man... you guys... you bring tears to my eyes. I'm serious.

I did not expect such intelligent, perceptive, selfless readers to take an interest in my story. You are the only reason I seriously began to think it was publishable. That is not to say that I am going into this blindly -- I realize how dismal this whole process is. If at any point I feel like what made TNP so exciting is being lost in the name of Money, I will withdraw. I want people to feel as much excitement reading as I had writing it, and if that means self-publishing and reaching a smaller audience, then so be it.

Yes, there will be a Book 2. It is already in the works (in my mind, of course). Regardless of what happens, I will begin posting again soon. I don't have a specific timeline just yet, but if you subscribe to my feed (and check in at rimajean.com) I can keep you posted on my progress.

STOPPING TO GET PUBLISHED?!? You're such a heartless egotist ;o)

Seriously, my heartiest "Good luck". Your writing is well worth publishing, but being worthy seems to have preciously little to do with it. Getting published seems to be a mixture of good storytelling, lotsa leg work and hitting an emerging trend first. You've got the writing, the leg work is, well, leg work, and you might create a trend all of your own with NP.

Genre? My vote goes to adventure. If there was a genre called "grand adventure" or "epic adventure", I'd go for that ;o)

Sample chapter? One that contains lots of piracy and hints of future-travel, to signal what the book's about.

Any contacts in the publishing industry? Sorry, no.

Publishing advice in general? None of my own that's worth the giving. Suggested reading : Novelr.com (all about e-fiction) and Charles Stross' website (a published author's blog with tons of insight about publishing). Amazon or iBooks would be obvious choices for e-book publishing, Smashwords may give an e-book the widest "reach" - but you probably already know more about that than I do, since you're doing web design, so I'll shut my big mouth now and cross my fingers and toes for Sabrina ;o)

Thanks loads for giving us such a long, rich adventure; anyone can START one, but having the staying power to keep it up for just short of 80 fantastic chapters, and to bring it all to a satisfying (temporary, I hope!) conclusion - that is a rare accomplishmen! Take a bow, lady, you've earned it ;o)

I'm going to miss checking the site everyday to see if you posted early, but I completely understand why. There is no way you won't get published, this novel is just too good.

As for your questions, I believe Historical Adventure/ Fantasy would be your best bet ( even with all the added fun), I agree with the others in using the England chapter, and I'm sorry I don't know anyone, but if I did you would've already been contacted. :D

I wish you the best of luck, although you won't need it (you're that good). :D

!!!
If this were a published book, rather than a book about to be published, I would be running to my computer to find out when the sequel was due in bookstores. Then I would order it in advance. Immediately.

As to your questions:
1)The fact that the book features time travel suggests sci-fi, however the story is really about the adventure Sabrina goes through, with a little romance. Historical adventure or perhaps historical fantasy would be appropriate I think.

2)I agree with Brook, that you should submit a couple sequential posts, and Captain England is probably a good "chapter" to select from. It provides the sense that Sabrina is in for the time of her life, while introducing the essential idea of the 'noble pirate'.

3)As for the publishing industry... unfortunately, no. However, I can suggest either borrowing or buying a copy of Orson Scott Card's "How to Write Science Fiction & Fantasy" - you obviously have the writing part down, but the last section of the book is devoted to getting published. I don't know if it will work for you and your situation, but it might be worth glancing at.
